Belmont Instrument Corporation, founded in 1980, has developed some of the most sophisticated and reliable devices in fluid management and cardiac assist. Today Belmont’s medical devices are used in more than 60,000 procedures annually. We are proud to help save lives in most of the world’s prestigious medical facilities as well as the combat field hospitals in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Belmont offers The Belmont® Rapid Infuser, The Belmont® buddy™  series of close-to-the patient fluid and blood warmers, and The Belmont® Hyperthermia Pump, an efficient and compact device for safe and effective hyperthermic lavage.

Continuous Innovation

For the first 20 years we developed advanced innovative cardiac assist devices including the smallest and lightest IABP ever sold, the 62 lb. portable balloon pump distributed by C.R. Bard as the Bard TransAct™ IABP. This device had advanced features which were unique to the industry.

In the late 90s we developed the first truly automated IABP. This unit featured automatic selection of signal source, trigger mode and assist timing and automatic control of pumped volume Distributed by Arrow International as the AutoCAT™ IABP, this system represented a quantum leap in IABP technology.

The Belmont Hyperthermia Pump

The Belmont® Hyperthermia Pump is a safe and simple system for rapid circulation of warmed fluids, adjustable to a desired temperature between 36° and 48°C. It is highly efficient, portable and easy-to-use. The Belmont® Hyperthermia Pump continuously monitors both the infusion process and the control system for unsafe conditions with a built-in monitoring/alarm system.

The Belmont Rapid Infuser

The Belmont Rapid Infuser The Belmont® Rapid Infuser has become the standard of care for rapid blood transfusion, by allowing precise control of intravascular volume while preventing hypothermia, air embolus and vessel trauma. The Belmont® Rapid Infuser uses patented electromagnetic induction heating to heat to target temperature in a single pass while intelligent software monitors and controls infusion. The touch screen allows for flow rate infusion from 2.5 to 1000ml/min with the touch of a button. The screen continuously displays total volume infused, infusion rate, fluid temperature and system pressure. The disposable set is designed for easy set up and active air evacuation. There are more than 3,000 systems in use in more than 40 countries throughout the world. Widely used in major medical centers, community hospitals, and children’s hospitals, The Belmont® Rapid Infuser is a proven life saver.
